South Korea

Crystal B., Asian studies

Crystal had already traveled through Japan and China and was looking for a new Asian destination to introduce her students to. Enter South Korea. We helped her build a tour that balances history and culture with hands-on ‘slice of life’ activities, like a cooking class and Korean karaoke.

To date, four tunnels have been discovered going south from North Korea under the DMZ. Don a hard hat and descend into the third North Korean tunnel, discovered in October 1978. You’ll also have a chance to see the DMZ Theater and Exhibition Hall; the Dora Observatory, which looks across the DMZ; and Dorasan Station, which once connected North and South Korea.
