Crystal had already traveled through Japan and China and was looking for a new Asian destination to introduce her students to. Enter South Korea. We helped her build a tour that balances history and culture with hands-on ‘slice of life’ activities, like a cooking class and Korean karaoke.

DMZ (Demilitarized Zone)
Opt to join a visit to the DMZ in Seoul for a deeper understanding of Korea’s current political and cultural climate. The DMZ is a 155-mile-long strip of land that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea—and the most heavily militarized border in the world. To date, four tunnels have been discovered going south from North Korea under the DMZ. Don a hard hat and descend into the third North Korean tunnel, discovered in October 1978. You’ll also have a chance to see the DMZ Theater and Exhibition Hall; the Dora Observatory, which looks across the DMZ; and Dorasan Station, which once connected North and South Korea.
 
Day 9: Depart for home
