Let’s talk about you for a second

As a teacher, selflessness can feel like part of the job description. But let’s take a moment to consider how being a traveling teacher can impact you—as an educator, as a leader of student travel experiences, and yes, as a person, too.

Enjoy world-class travel rewards

Start earning Global Rewards Points as soon as you start enrolling students. Redeem them after your first tour for incredible rewards like student travel scholarships and on-tour upgrades. You can also use your Global Points to explore dreamy destinations—like scenic Rwanda and the streets of Florence—on tours created especially for traveling teachers. Thanks to our educational partnerships around the world, these trips include “only at EF” experiences such as VIP access to the Tour de France and our Ashridge Executive Education program housed at EF's very own castle. Check out EF Group Leader Rikki's story to see how a high school Spanish teacher from Colorado turned her Global Points into an unforgettable Service Learning tour in the Dominican Republic with other traveling teachers.

We also offer incredible group benefits for you and your travelers, like our early enrollment discount (available for new travelers who sign up quickly for your trip), or getting your guaranteed first-choice tour when at least 15 paying travelers enroll to depart on select dates. Talk to your Tour Consultant to learn more about accessing these benefits and more.

Experience a tour before you lead one

Once enrollment is underway, first-time Group Leaders are welcomed into the EF family with training programs designed just for you, at no cost. Our in-person training tours take place in dreamy destinations like Paris, Panama, and Berlin. There, you’ll learn from both EF staffers and Global Education Ambassadors (experienced Group Leaders who often serve as mentors throughout the planning process) to get a taste of what your own tour will look like. And the first time the size of your group reaches 60+ travelers and requires at least two buses? We thought of that, too. You and your lead chaperone are invited on an International Multibus Training Tour, designed specifically for teachers leading large groups, at no cost. Whether you embark on an international training tour or take part in our virtual training program, we’ll make sure you feel prepared and confident before you lead your students abroad.

Put on your future-thinking cap

While you’ll walk away from tour with many tangible rewards, the most important one is the life-changing impact you’ll make on your students while teaching abroad. You’ll help them prepare for the future by helping them learn more about the world, themselves, and their place in the world. Plus, they just might get their first taste of authentic gelato. And that’s also truly life-changing.

One more thing

For every six travelers you enroll, you get a spot on tour, on us. That means you can travel at no cost to you and bring along your dream team of chaperones. Oh, and you might suddenly become the most popular person in the teacher’s room.
