  1. Life-changing experience

I was not sure what to expect on my first EF tour, but I was beyond impressed! The organization from the flight to the hotels was extremely smooth. Our tour director was on our side and helpful from the start. They met us at the airport and put us on the bus right away. We were constantly informed about next steps as well as given a guided tour every step of the way from on the bus to at the actual locations. Our tour started with the beauty of Lucerne with its amazing mountaintops to its beautiful riverside cafes. Our tour director informed us of the history and battles fought in Lucerne along with every historical landmark there. We toured a bunker and a mountaintop while still finding time to relax and shop. The food provided by the hotel was sub-par, but the views made up for it. We then traveled to Simione, an addition added to the tour for a low cost. We took a boat ride on the beautiful lake and toured a castle from the boat! The students enjoyed the sunshine and a lot of gelato on our way to Verona. Verona was filled with the magic of Romeo and Juliette as well as espresso and tiramisu. We then traveled to Venice while our tour guide provided an interesting BBC video on the history. We learned about the doges, the Black Plague and battles won while on the bus. We then had a guided tour of the Doges palace by an expert guide who was very informative. Venice was our favorite with a well-guided gondola ride and getting lost in each of the adorable alleyways. The view from the bridge was probably our favorite. We then went on to Rome with expertly guided tours through the Vatican with its high walls and gorgeous gardens, to the Colosseum and the Roman ruins. We learned from our guides of the secret passageways in the Vatican to the Catholic tradition of building right over Pagan marble churches! We then went to the fountain, the Pantheon and finally a beautiful square. This was a bit of an exhausting day and I would have added a rest day in between Rome and Florence as the students were exhausted! We then moved on to Florence with guided tours of the David statue and some free time for gelato. Our trip took us to France and we enjoyed Monaco and the French Riviera for two days. This was a great way to end the trip with shopping, eating and laying on the beach. Nice is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! Overall the hotels were mid-level with the hotel food being sub-par but the restaurant food being excellent. We always felt safe and cared for by our tour director and her love of Italy was enjoyed by all. Will definitely do this trip again with other students because they learned more in a week than they could have in a year of instruction! Thank you EF!

  2. Fantastic Trip!

What an amazing experience for my first trip to Europe! We had wonderful tour directors who gave us great information about each place we visited, where to shop, eat, and what to see on our free time. They were great with our students too! I liked most of the hotels we stayed at, very nice accommodations, although WiFi was spotty in some hotels. The food at hotels and restaurants chosen for us was very good. I was disappointed that because we had a very large group we had to be separated into 2 sections for dinner and some sightseeing tours, but understand why this was necessary.

  3. TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!

I had an amazing time on this tour. My tour guide provided ample free time to explore restaurants, tourist shops, and local areas. My group took the optional excursion up Mount Titlis, which was well worth the money. You get to take a gondola ride up the mountain, tour an ice cave, and play in a snow park. There is also a ski lift ride available, but my group didn't get to do that due to high winds. I always had plenty to eat on tour. I always felt safe. My group didn't have to wait very long outside attractions, even though my tour was during the busy season-summer. We were able to see many cities in Italy. However, I do wish we had more time to explore/look around specific sights sometimes. My group blew in and out of the Sistine Chapel fairly quickly. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. While we were in France, an older lady in my group tripped and hit her head. Our tour guide had emergency help at the site within minutes. The older lady was able to return with us the next day. On the last day we had free time at the beach. It was very relaxing. This trip has made me want to explore the world even further! Overall I would love to travel with EF again in the future and highly recommend this tour!

  4. Fun times

This tour is great for first time travelers and the kids on the tour were excited and full of expectations which made the weather and delays more tolerable. It was a very efficient tour if not luxurious. The hotels were 2 to 3 stars but we didn't stay in them for very long. The food was adequate. We had a great experience traveling with the kids on their first journey to Europe. I'd definitely recommend it. Our tour guide was full of energy and information. She made it special as did the group leaders.

  5. Be ready for some long rides

If you want to see a LOT of territory in 11 days, this trip is for you. Beginning in beautiful Switzerland, you will travel through the Alps to Venice. Then from Venice down to Rome is another long ride. Our wonderful tour guide took us through Orvieto, a little known gem of a village, which broke this day up beautifully. From Rome, we started early and got in a good visit to Florence. The last long bus ride ended outside Cannes. However, the left side of the bus gives great views of the Mediterranean all the way. The extension takes the TGV to Paris. All in all, this tour is well worth the money, but you must be prepared for some extremely long days on the bus in order to get to some of the greatest cities in Europe.

  6. ok for students

I would recommend the tour to a student but not an adult. The trip was too fast paced and so little time spent in each area. Our guide and local guides were outstanding and she went above and beyond for our group.
For a first time visitor to Europe, this would be a good trip. It shows the city but too little time spent to get the true flavor of the cities.
Hotels too far out of the city, travel times long for such a short time in each city. I went with a church group and thought it would be geared toward churches.

  7. Trip of a lifetime

I am a parent of a student who went on the trip. I was skeptical of the trip before we left but as it turned out, the trip was amazing. We had a fantastic tour guide and bus driver. The cities we visited were truly amazing. I would definitely do this trip again. The only negatives were a few of the hotel rooms were subpar. I knew they would be small but one in particular had broken air-conditioning which was not addressed. It was 99 degrees that day. Breakfast was good. A few of the dinners were only average.

  8. Lots of Fun but also very disappointed

The overall experience was absolutely amazing. I learned more and saw more than I could've ever imagined. But at the same time I was extremely disappointed with the hotel choice and situations we ran into. Our hotels had no air conditioning what so ever. Which was terrible as we hit the 2 hottest days of the year in 2 different places. It was absolutely exhausting to walk around all day sweating and seeing so many cool places but come back to the hotel and sweat just as much at night and not get any sleep. I highly recommend these trips as it was more fun and exciting than anything. A once in a life time opportunity for sure! Hope next time the hotels can accommodate a little better and be helpful instead of brushing us off like it's nothing.

  10. Very Disappointing

I am sending a letter as well to detail the poor experience. Over all I believe you charged a premium price and gave a below average product as it relates to transportation and lodging.
The educational aspect was good but the terrible accommodations, lack of planning, and cheap bus overshadowed the good.
