  1. Life Changing Experience

This was the most amazing trip I have ever went on. It was a life changing experience from the community service project to the amazing Machu Picchu. Exploring the Peruvian culture toasting the delicious and colorful food, this was an outstanding experience that is would recommend to everyone.

  2. Genuine Service & Fascinating Cultural Experience

EF blew me away with this tour. I thought that a combination of language immersion, cultural experiences, and a genuine service project was too much to ask for. This tour was that and so much more. Spending the majority of our time in Ollantaytambo, a small village in the Andes, gave us the opportunity to feel immersed in the culture and see up close how the locals live their day to day lives. Our service project allowed us to get our hands dirty, get a taste of how some Peruvians actually live, and for my students to meet and interact with children their age. Watching this play out was an educator's dream! I could not have asked for more out of a service project. Exploring the archaeological sites at Ollantaytambo, Sacsayhuaman, and Machu Picchu with expert guides blew our minds. Our overall experience was simply unforgettable. I know that my students' view of language learning has evolved because of this trip and that they have a new appreciation for learning Spanish. They will never look at the opportunity to learn a second language the same again.

  3. Smiling the whole time

This trip was epic to say the least. From the moment we met our tour guide, it was all smiles and fun. Shirley rocked and made us feel instantly at home, even though it was 12:30 in the morning.

Our adventures all around the Inca-ruins of Peru were aw-inspiring, and the service learning project was an instant kid favorite on our trip.

The language immersion classes were fun, educational, and relevant to what our day activity was, and the instructor, created a relationship with our kids that is priceless.

I knew that the trip would be fun before we arrived, but I had no idea how many lives would be changed from a trip to Peru.

I'll never forget the last day when we had to leave, and our entire group had tears, some for the adventure, some for our departure from our tour guides, but all for their experience that they will never forget in Peru.

  4. Beautiful experiencie

Our group were amazed with the amazing views in Peru. Most of our students were traveling for the first time, so they were really impressed with all things they were seeing. The weather in Peru was perfect and all peopled treated us really nice. Obviously, 9 days are not enough to see everything. I wish we could have more time to visit more places. Being on a tour makes everything to go a little bit faster than I would love to. However I know this is the only way we have to try different things in that amount of time. One of my concerns would be the hotels. We were not expecting to have any luxury hotels. We were expecting from the hotels to be comfortable. Some of the hotels we stayed were either dirty (bedrooms, bathrooms) or the food, specially breakfasts were not good, specially to spent all day out before lunch. Other than that, everything was really good.

  5. Amazing People, Lousy Hotels

Our tour host and language specialist were wonderful, amazing people. They engaged the students and were very knowledgeable. They saved the day and are worth their weight in gold.

However, in my opinion, the hotels were, in a few cases, disgusting, moldy, and damp. You must improve the accommodations. It took all my strength not to abandon the group and seek safer, cleaner housing.

Also, don't limit flights to certain carriers. Why fly a group of children from Houston to Miami to Lima, when you can fly direct?

Our tour director and language facilitator on the Peru Spanish Language and Culture Service project Immersion trip were AMAZING! I felt so connected with them both. It was so hard to say goodbye at the end, but they gave me little “Tauritos” as a goodbye which was so special. I loved being able to completely experience the culture without feeling like I was invading or being a tourist. The people were so welcoming that it makes me emotional to think about. The one complaint I have is that I unfortunately did not enjoy was the Cuy or the Alpaca... I have been sick from that ever since I got home. But that’s just me and my body— nothing to do with EF tours. Thank you, EF Tours, for an unforgettable experience!
