  1. Amazing trip

The trip was truly educational. We visited places and saw things that I had only read about. Our tour guide was an awesome person and so very knowledgeable about all the places we visited. Some days were long, but that is okay as we experienced so much over the two weeks. I would highly recommend this trip to others, It was educational as well as fun.

  2. Room for improvement

There were many good things about the trip. Switzerland is beautiful, and Paris was very memorable. There were some negative things that happened. The flight to Zurich had two stops prior to the international flight; from CMH to Charlotte, then to Philadelphia. This was very inconvenient and likely could've been avoided. Our tour guide was very nice and helpful with any questions about language, or with issues at the hotel, keeping us informed about times to meet or to be ready; yet she had never been to the areas of Switzerland we toured so she was unable to talked about nearly everything we were visiting because she had no information. For example, we would see a working clock tower and she knew nothing about its history! She would have to look things up on an ipad for information. We felt this was not entirely her fault but rather poor scheduling on the part of EF. One of the sites scheduled in Switzerland was Bear Park. Many on the trip felt this was not impressive, and not worth it. There are only three bears there. The guide knew little about the cities in Switzerland. The hotel in Switzerland was very far away from all the tours, and the drive time each day was two hours each way. The hotel was understaffed, and the rooms needed attention. The meals were not good when compared to the Paris hotel, and all dinners and breakfasts were at the hotel. We had no dinners out. The drive time to get from Switzerland to Paris was twelve hours! This shortened our trip overall, and several felt that there were too many days in Switzerland and too few in Paris. If the Switzerland hotel had been in a more central location, maybe that would've allowed for this. Several felt that offering a train to get from one country to the other would've been a nice option, since we were on the bus so much overall. In Paris, we were not scheduled to visit the Louvre until the teachers insisted it be arranged. One time, we were supposed to go on a bus tour, and this got cancelled or was never properly scheduled. It was only after the teachers pushed, did EF reimburse us for the cost of the bus. The teachers did a lot of scheduling, provided much input to the schedule, and often were doing the talking. Again; our guide was great, but the teachers were very involved with making sure things were not missed. Although I myself have not been on an EF tour, I have traveled much and have been on several bus tours. Typically, the guide has extensive knowledge of all areas on the itinerary and is frequently talking while on the bus. Once when we were on the bus, one of the teachers asked the guide to please share some info about the political structure in France. It was only then did she speak in detail. A few times the teachers took the microphone and gave us some history. My daughter has been on another EF tour and said the last one was very different when compared to this one, with regard to all things mentioned. I do not feel EF should've sent our guide to an area she had little or no experience with.

  3. Great experience, but not as advertised

My daughter loved the trip- Switzerland was breathtaking, Paris awe-inspiring. The group got to add on a couple of bonus activities. Bus driver was friendly and funny, tour director knowledgeable and experienced. Hotels did have WiFi, but rooms in Paris were tiny. Disappointed that the cheese making activity did not happen, and somehow the bus tour in Paris got canceled. Amazing learning experience.

  5. Unforgettable

Our trip was amazing, and made even better by our tour director. I cannot imagine the trip without her. She was so knowledgeable and accommodating. We saw so many new things and shared so many new experiences. Switzerland was the best part of the trip, and should have been last. Paris was great, but was a bit of a let down after the awesomeness of Switzerland. We feel that the trip would have been even that much better if the order has been reversed.

  6. Great Trip

Our tour director was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable about the areas that we visited. Our bus driver was another outstanding individual. I really appreciate the time I had to converse with our tour director and bus driver after hours. Our conversations were very enlightening and interesting for both them and me.

Our stay in Paris at the Villa Alessandra in Paris was very disappointing. This was supposed to be a 4 Star hotel. The rooms had the capability for air conditioning but it didn't work at all. After 4 days in the upper 80's and lower 90's, they finally fixed the blower in our room unit but did NOT fix the cooling. It was a miserable stay with the excessive heat! I would not recommend that EF Tours use this facility in the future.
