Best of Barcelona! It was great and students had a fantastic time. I loved how it was organized and how everything was done for you. some things that I might suggest for improvement:
-let GL know about free time options the night before so we can advise students about the right attire, etc. Sometimes we were just as surprised as the students were that we wouldn't get a chance to go back to the hotel before dinner.
-Bike tour was great, but was very dangerous. some kids had a lot of trouble riding and this issue was compounded when we rode through dangerous city streets making lots of sudden stops, etc. I felt like you should list this in the itinerary with more of a word of caution for the travelers...like that it's physically challenging and discuss a level of difficulty.
Getting to know BarcelonaI would highly recommend this tour to groups who are interested in getting to know Barcelona in great detail. I loved that we were centrally located and became comfortable with the metro system and were able to explore many aspects of the city.
We were able to customize our itinerary. (which I highly recommend) The surprise stand out activity that everyone loved was the bike tour. We also hit up all of the big tourist spots and they didn't disappoint. The only improvement would be to allow for more time at each place. EF tends to rush you through each site.
Food: We had two terrible meals and two out of this world meals during our stay. After EF received my feedback on our first nights dinner, they reached out and tried to make it right, so my advice to anyone having any sort of issue on tour is to put it in your daily review.
EF booked us two evenings with locals for dinner. For the first evening with locals, we were split into small groups and had dinner with them in their homes. The second evening of dinner with locals included a cooking class. Both evenings were incredibly memorable and the food was delicious. It was such a great way to experience the city, getting to know the people who actually live there.
Love BarcelonaBarcelona is a great city for such tours. The art, the history, the architecture - just amazing for a school group. The tour guide was excellent. Sagrada Familia, Montserrat, Flamenco, Park Guell, and Las Ramblas were amazing. What was a bit lacking were the dinners that were a part of the itinerary. To go into restaurants and to not have any options from the menu because you have to have one main course didn't fit the experience. I think it would be better to give us a budget and let the group order from the menu. The food is too good in that town to have bad dinners.
okWay too expensive for what they offer. Too much free time to go shopping and for the beach instead of using that time to know more places. They also took the students to a topless beach, which I think is not ok. There are tons of beautiful beaches, but out of all of them, they picked this one.
