1. How does group travel work?

We look for groups with common interests and date flexibility to travel together on tour. This process, called consolidation, enables us to keep our Program Fees the lowest—and gives thousands of students the chance to discover the world with EF.

2. How many participants do I need to put a group together?

It’s up to you. You can travel with any number of students (and adults). EF offers one free place for every six travelers.

3. What are EF hotels like?

We choose safe, clean accommodations with private baths. Most EF hotels cater specifically to student groups and have access to public transportation.

4. As a group leader, do I need to send in an application form or pay the non-refundable deposit?

No. We already have your application information on file, and you don’t need to pay the non-refundable deposit. You will, however, need to complete your Group Leader Release and Agreement Form (PDF).

5. What is included in the Program Fee?

Your Program Fee includes round-trip airfare, overnight accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily, guided sightseeing, select entrance fees, a full-time EF Tour Director, and a 24-hour emergency service. Lunches and tips are extra. We suggest each participant tip your tour director $6 (€4) per day and $3 (€2) per day for your bus driver. If your tour includes a cruise, tipping is usually $10 (€6) per person per day.

6. How do students make payments?

The easiest way to make payments is by enrolling in EF's monthly payment plan. Travelers may also submit one-time payments by phone, fax or mail.

7. When do students have to pay their balance in full?

8. What if there is an emergency on tour?

Your EF Tour Director accompanies you throughout your stay, is trained to handle problems that may arise, and stays in contact with the local EF office wherever you are. EF also maintains a 24-hour emergency telephone service in the U.S. and overseas.
