ABOUT EF

For over 55 years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to one global mission: Opening the World Through Education. Our programs help students expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, grow more confident and independent, and understand new people, places, and cultures.

8 days

The experience of a lifetime is waiting for you. Every detail from the cities you’ll stay in to the cultural discoveries you’ll make have been customized by your teacher for your group. Take a look at your personal itinerary for a sneak peek of what's in store.

  • Day 1: Fly to the Dominican Republic

Meet your Tour Director at the airport

    Travel to Bayahibe

Travel to your service project location

    • Learn about your specific service work during your project orientation
    • Take a tour of the local community you’ll be serving
  • Days 2-5: Fundemar • Bayahibe

As communities evolve so do their needs. That’s why we work closely with non-profits to better understand the local challenges. Since projects are determined closer to your actual tour date, here’s a glimpse at what a typical day might look like:

    • Meet EF’s partner organization and learn how it is working to improve the state of coral reef in the Dominican Republic.
    • Discuss coral reef biology and restoration practices.
    • Practice snorkeling techniques as you learn how to identify local species of fish and gather scientific data within marine ecosystems.
  • Day 6: Bayahibe

    Enjoy a canopy tour

Take a guided walk in a national park

  • Day 7: Bayahibe

Enjoy a relaxing day snorkeling and observing a local coral reef

  • Day 8: Depart for home
