8 days
(Or add 2-day extension) – Estimated 15 Service Hours
Meaningful. Sustainable. Unforgettable
Explore the vibrant city of Granada and journey into the rural landscape, where you’ll live and work alongside community members. With access to sustainable grassroots projects, you’ll work side by side with locals to help empower residents and children through education-based projects, like restoring old classrooms, building hand-washing stations and more. You’ll also get firsthand experience of environmental conservation as you hike alongside volcanoes, walk through a coffee plantation, and participate in meaningful workshops at your coastal retreat.
Your Service Project Themes
We work with the award-winning charity Free The Children to better understand the needs of each community and then focus projects on those issues. Themes include:
  • Education
  • Health
  • Clean Water and Sanitation
  • Alternative Income and Livelihood
  • Agriculture and Food Security

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN MANAGUA
Meet your Field Director at the airport and travel to your accommodations.

DAYS 2-7: SERVICE PROJECT — FREE THE CHILDREN COMMUNITY
As communities evolve so do their needs. That’s why we work closely with Free The Children to better understand the local challenges. Since projects are determined closer to your actual tour date, here’s a glimpse at what a typical day might look like.
  • Each morning, you’ll begin your service project in a nearby village.
  • Spend afternoons immersed in cultural activities, such as a full day in Granada, where you’ll experience a guided sightseeing tour of this 16th-century city
  • Evenings are a chance to reflect, discuss events as a group, and draw connections between the day’s work and relevant global issues.

DAY 8 – DEPART FOR HOME

ADD 2-DAY TOUR EXTENSION

DAYS 8-10: CENTRAL PACIFIC COAST
  • Enjoy additional days at a coastal community for some relaxation, reflection and a BBQ after your service project.
