Tell us about your hometown.
I live in Harrison, Montana, where cows actually outnumber people. My town is very, very small—there are only about 150-200 people—and it only has one side. If you can't grasp that idea, imagine a main street in a small town, then make one side of the street a big open field, and you got it. My school is also very small—there are only eight students in my grade! With a school this small, if anything happens, every single person knows about it.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I play a lot of sports, like football, basketball, and track & field. During the summer I swim, wakeboard, cliff jump, tube, and in the fall I train for mixed martial arts. During the winter I snowboard and lift weights. I’ve also been playing guitar for four years in a band called Pony Express.

How did you feel when you got chosen for Life on Tour™?
I was surprised and excited. I never thought I would get one of the roles, but I did. I was so excited that when I jumped out of my seat, I tripped and fell on the floor! I didn’t believe I was going to be going to Europe. I told my parents, friends...it was crazy. I couldn't be more thankful to EF Tours.

Now that you’re back home and have had time to reflect on your experience, tell us something you’ve learned about yourself after taking this tour.
Now that I’m back home and adjusted to the real world, I’ve made several changes to my lifestyle. First, I think I am a little more humble. Also, I became an EF College Break Campus Manager and now I give presentations and speeches on why people should travel and experience new cultures. I’ve met a ton of new friends and I generally just live a more relaxed and outgoing lifestyle than I did before I traveled.

How did this trip affect what you want to study in college and/or your future career plans?
I have completely changed my plans for college. Before going on this trip, I’d planned to go to Montana Tech for Computer Science. Now I’m going to the University of Montana for Communications and Marketing. Going to Europe made me realize that I don’t want to be stuck in some room for the rest of my life working on computers. I want to get out there and experience the whole world.

"It was awesome to see the buildings and paintings that I've studied in class. Experiencing the objects in real life rather than examining them in textbooks was extraordinary."
