Being from rural Iowa, I brought four students to Belize. Two had never been in an airplane and one that had never been out of the state of Iowa. When I presented this trip to our school board I based it on building confidence. By the end of this trip, one student that had never flown was sitting next to the pilot on a 16-seat plane and turned around and gave me the thumbs up signal. On the way to Belize she was almost in tears because she was so afraid. My other student that had never flown was more relaxed and found making friends an easy task. This was not the case in school. These students were labeled at-risk and now they are at-risk of being the leader and not the follower. They earned their own money by fundraising and then were able to see what that time could buy them. They were proud of their efforts and will be better people because of this experience. Thank you EF for giving these students the opportunity to find themselves in a global world.
This trip to Italy was amazing! I want to go again and again. The trip just ignited a spark and I can't stop thinking about Italy. I went on the trip Spring Break of 2012. Granted some of the places were crowded. Its Italy you can't expect it to not be. The Colosseum and the Sisteen Chapel were life changing. The hotels were great, except for the last one, it was near an airport. You can imagine. You won't like some of the food, but it's a new experience- adventure. I implore you to seriously consider going on this once in a lifetime experience! I'm going on the London/ Paris trip in 2014! Highly recommend!
My tour to Costa Rica was a very fun and exciting trip. I liked our everyday activities and experiences. The food was pretty simple but yet tasteful. Hotels were VERY nice and they offered you the joys of a different country. I went zip lining and white water rafting and I had the time of my life, I am even afraid of heights and the zip line didn't bother me. My tour guide was a very friendly and fun person. The people that my group traveled with were from 5 other states and it was nice to meet other students from the states while in Costa Rica.
Wonderful trip for all that are history buffs, tons of knowledgeable information from the tour guides and the sights are breath taking, it was great to see history up close and not in a book
GO ON THIS TOUR. Amazing, will be a memory I will have forever. Our tour guides name was James, and he was an amazing tour guide. I would go on this your a thousand more times if I could. Great hotels, great experience.
This was my first trip outside of the United States and I must say that I absolutely loved it. All the anxiety that usually comes with traveling from place to place in an unfamiliar part of the world was eliminated by our excellent tour guide. She was amazing from day one of the tour and she was nothing less than completely helpful and essential to the traveling experience. As for the London and Paris, both were incredible places to visit. The culture and history of these two cities cannot be emphasized enough. If you are someone who appreciates culture and historical significance then this is definitely the trip for you!
This trip was my first out of Texas and it made me think of the world differently. We met new people everyday, we ate different foods and learned the language. This is the type of trip I would love to bring my family on because I know that they would love it just like I did!!!!!!!!
The overall experience was wonderful. It was very diverse and intuitive in all the activities we did. I learned about the Irish and English culture and history as well as met other people from around the world. I specifically loved and felt overwhelmed when i saw the famous Big Ben standing right there in front of me. It was a perfect spring break!!
