Dear Parents,
When I was 16, my parents agreed to send me on Madame Bitoun’s week-long French class trip to Paris. They were hoping that my first real glimpse of adulthood would get me thinking about college and my future.
Well, they were right. As usual.
It wasn’t just that I learned more French; being in a different country made me more mature, more confident. I studied hard after that trip and got into Middlebury, spent my junior year in Paris and graduated with degrees in French and Spanish. I then began a career in educational travel by taking a job in Seville, Spain.
I wouldn’t be writing to you today if my parents hadn’t encouraged me to join Madame Bitoun’s trip. It was one of the soundest investments in my future that they could make. Thank you for giving your child the same opportunity.
