From ancient customs to modern-day issues, your adventure in India offers an inside look at local life. Under the guidance of your Field Director, you’ll gain insight into the economic, environmental and social challenges communities face just outside Udaipur—a city in the north desert state of Rajasthan. Together, you’ll address gender disparities facing young women living in Rajasthan’s tribal communities and help to combat female illiteracy. You’ll spend time understanding the traditional culture while addressing the social barriers that prevent women from realizing their full potential—as well as the economic struggles that lead children to perform harmful child labor jobs.
