Whit Johnson - EF Local Representative

My love for travel began as a junior in high school when I had the opportunity to spend a summer living with a host family in Quito, Ecuador. My experience in Ecuador opened my eyes to the power of global education and to the importance of cross-cultural relationships. 
 
In college I continued to build on the language skills that I had gained in Ecuador while also taking advantage of the opportunity to study abroad in Spain. I immersed myself once again in the Spanish language and another incredible culture and graduated with a degree in Hispanic Studies. Upon graduation, I began teaching Spanish in the Boston area and took full advantage of my summer vacations to put on my backpack and bounce around Latin America.
 
After four years as a high school teacher I had the opportunity to take a group of students on a summer-long tour of Spain. It was at this point that I found EF and the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for education and international travel. As an EF Local Representative, I meet with young people every day to discuss opportunities to take their education outside the classroom and explore the world.
