How do I qualify for Paris Orientation?
In order to qualify for Paris Orientation, you must be planning to lead your first educational tour with EF. The departure date of this tour must be after the orientation session you wish to join. You must also have accumulated 225 Global Points on your account. We offer incentives throughout the year in which group leaders can qualify for the orientation with fewer Global Points. Please contact your Tour Consultant for more information on qualifying for these incentives.

What are Global Points?
Global Points are awarded as one point per paying participant per day of the tour. Thus, a 10 day tour with 10 paying participants enrolled would earn you 100 Global Points.

How do I enroll on Paris Orientation?
After you have set up your tour with EF and earned enough Global Points, you can log onto your website with your Group Leader number and password (your zip code). Click on Global Rewards in the drop down menu and next click on Conventions. Finally, select your requested orientation date and follow the instructions to enter your travel information. Please be certain that the information you enter is accurate as we will be basing our travel reservations on the information you provide.

Do I need to do anything once I have received my confirmation email from Global Rewards?
Again, please ensure that your enrollment information is correct and notify us right away if any changes should be made (e.g., passport name, departure gateway, rooming request). A representative from the Global Rewards department will send you occasional emails with information related to the Paris Orientation.

What is included in the Paris Orientation confirmation email I receive from Global Rewards?
Included in the email is a detailed day-by-day itinerary of what you will be doing each day in Paris, additional FAQs, and insurance information.

May I bring a guest to the Paris Orientation?
Unfortunately, EF cannot accommodate guests on the Paris Orientation. With limited space, we want to ensure that as many first-time group leaders as possible have the benefit of attending the orientation.

May I stay behind after the Paris Orientation to travel on my own?
Unfortunately, our system of advance flight space booking prevents us from arranging special travel arrangements for the Paris Orientation.

When will I know my flight itinerary and hotel details?
This information will be available via email approximately 7-10 days prior to your departure. You will receive a final email with hotel and flight information, (flight itineraries are generally not available before this point, although you may check with your Tour Consultant). Most airline tickets are e-tickets, so you will receive this final information via email.

What is an e-ticket?
An electronic ticket, or e-ticket, is a paperless confirmation of your flight reservation. When you have an e- ticket, all of your pertinent personal information and flight information is in the airline’s database. Since there is no paper ticket to present, there is never a risk of losing your airline tickets! When you have an e-ticket, you simply present your passport to the airline representative at check in. The airline representative will then issue your boarding passes, and check your luggage in for you. Once you have your boarding pass, continue through the security check and to your gate to board your flight.

I’d like to make my seat assignment before my flight. Can EF assign my seat?
Unfortunately, EF does not have the capability to make seat assignments with the airlines. Please call the airline directly to make any seat and/or special meal requests.

Do you need to know my special dietary or medical requirements?
Yes, please let us know if you need any special considerations. If you haven’t already indicated your special requests on your online claim form, then please contact Global Rewards. You will also need to inform the airline as well, as EF is not able to assign special meals or seating for your flights.

Will I be met at the airport by an EF representative?
Yes. Just like you would on your normal student tour, an EF representative will meet you at the airport. Upon your arrival in Paris, you will go through the customs line and then be greeted by an EF representative holding an EF sign. As there are three customs exits in Charles de Gaulle, if you do not see an EF staff member after going through the customs gate, please go the information meeting point next to the tourist office (there will be a sign with a big “i” on it).

What if I have an emergency or a delay on my way to the Paris Orientation?
If for any reason your flight should be delayed or you will not be arriving at the scheduled time, please call EF’s emergency number with your new flight information so that we may arrange for someone to meet you at the airport in Paris. EF’s 24 hour emergency service numbers are 1-800-637-8222 when calling from within the US, and 617-619-2913 when calling from abroad (please call collect).

Can I earn continuing education units for attending Paris Orientation?
Yes. In order to earn continuing education units for attending Paris Orientation, you must verify with your school district that they will grant CEUs for EF’s 72 hour seminar. At the end of Paris Orientation, you will receive a certificate confirming your completion of EF’s 72 hour seminar for new Group Leaders that you can submit to your school administration. At the discretion of individual school districts, school administrators can then award credit to you. We recommend that Group Leaders verify CEU eligibility with their school district prior to leaving for Paris Orientation.
