When do I have to submit my request for a travel reward (not including conventions)?
Travel requests need to be received at least 90 days prior to the requested departure date for Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, international destinations (except for Canada), cruises and Go Ahead Tours trips. Travel requests must be received 60 days prior to the requested departure date for the continental U.S. and Canada. Send in your request as soon as you have decided on your travel plans.

May I extend my stay at a travel reward destination?
Yes. Indicate on your redemption form the exact dates of your stay.If redeeming for a reward that includes hotel stay, please specify if you would like EF to book the hotel for extra nights and provide the exact dates. You are responsible for any extra air or hotel costs.

Is it possible to fly in and out of different gateways?
This is possible only for European travel. We will do our best to accommodate you, however we can make no guarantees. A 45-point surcharge will be added per traveler within the same time zone. If you are requesting gateways in different zones, the higher point total applies.

Can we choose our specific flights?
Feel free to list your preferred flights and airline and EF will do our best to accommodate you. Please note, however, that EF may not work with your specified airline, or space may not be available.

May I give my travel reward to somebody else?
Yes. Indicate on your redemption form you have given the travel reward to someone else and provide us with that person's full name as it appears on his/her passport, as well as his or her contact information.

May I pay to take someone else along on a travel reward?
Yes, subject to availability. Rates are available approximately six weeks prior to departure. Paying guests are limited to three per travel reward.

I do not have enough points for a reward. May I make up the difference by paying?
No. You need to have the required amount of points on your account for a reward. However, if you are traveling with someone, but only have enough points for one traveler, you can redeem a reward for one and pay EF for the full cost of the second traveler. The cost for the paying traveler will be available approximately six weeks prior to your travel date.

How will I receive my tickets?
Most likely your tickets will be electronic. Once we receive your approval on a flight schedule, we will then email you the final electronic itinerary. Simply print a copy of that itinerary for your reference and bring it to the airport. You will be given boarding passes upon check-in at the airport. In the rare case that we issue paper tickets, we will mail them to you approximately four weeks prior to your travel date.

What if I need to cancel my travel reward?
If you are unable to travel on your requested trip, you will be subject to any fees incurred by the hotel or airline, as well as forfeiture of your Global Points. Name and date changes are not permitted at any time.

When redeeming for a vacation package, may I split the hotel nights into two separate stays?
Yes. You may split your stay in one city. For example: use two nights in Rome, then travel on your own, and then return to Rome for the remaining three nights. You may not, however, split your hotel stay between two different cities. Please indicate the specific dates for which you would like EF to book your hotel on your redemption form.

May I transfer my Global Points to another group leader?
No. Global Points are strictly non-transferable between accounts. You may also not pool points with another group leader to claim a reward.

Do I have to be enrolled on a 2009 tour to attend a 2009 convention?
Yes. However, if you are not enrolled, you can use your Global Points to travel on Go Ahead Tours (see list of Travel Rewards), or request another travel or merchandise reward.

Can I arrange a stay-ahead or stay-behind for my convention?
Unfortunately, our system of booking flight space in advance prevents us from arranging special travel arrangements for most destinations. If this option is available to us, we will contact you and ask you to inform us of your travel plans by 120 days prior to departure.

Can I bring a paying guest on convention?
Yes, you are welcome to bring one paying guest on convention. The exact cost for paying participants will be available approximately 90 days prior to the convention’s departure date. (Please note: On EF Orientations, group leaders may not bring guests.)

May I use my Global Points to pay for a space on my educational tour?
No. EF Global Points are redeemable only for conventions, gift rewards and travel rewards.

When are Global Points added to my account?
Global Points are credited as soon as the participant's application is received and processed. For details, please see the Terms and Conditions.

When may I redeem my Global Points?
You may redeem your Global Points online as soon as they are credited to your account. Please note that in order for points to remain valid, participants must remain active and pay in full. If account is negative more than 60 days, an invoice will be sent.
